The Outset: A Journal
A brief and non-binding introduction to The Outset.
The Outset is just that—a starting point.
Most good things start with a kernel of an idea and evolve into something else entirely. My own idea for this Substack started as a small kernel a long time ago. And after delaying and perfectionizing I came to the obvious (but apparently illusive) conclusion that any starting point is better than not starting at all. I can’t promise it will be perfect, but I hope it will be intriguing, sometimes funny, and a worthy reason to increase your screen time. And I’m open to the possibility that it might evolve into something entirely different than it was at the outset.
A place for conversations, both ones previously held in my head and with people I like who have something interesting to say about something or other. These vague terms will, for now, guide The Outset.
